DIRECT DRILLS FOR GRASSLAND & ARABLE FARMING

The Simtech range includes simple gravity fed box drills starting at 1.8m for viticulture and extends up to 6m folding air drills with high output front hopper and rear toolbar arable versions available for high trash conditions.

ABOUT SIMTECH

After 10 years of distributing, selling and supporting a number of variants of direct and no-till drill George Simon took the plunge and established Simtech in 2006 and started to develop his own range of grassland and arable drills.

A culmination of many years of evolution, the Simtech range is based around the world renowned and time proven T-slot technique of using a disc and tine to create a micro environment to protect and nurture the seed.

The Simtech range includes simple gravity fed box drills starting at 1.8m for viticulture and extends up to 6m folding air drills with high output front hopper and rear toolbar arable versions available for high trash conditions.

The leading disc is a key component of the drill, when direct drilling. It is used to cut through grass sward’s or crop residue providing a lead in for the patented T-slot tungsten tipped coulter which opens the seed furrow and deposits the seed.

As a result of the inverted T coulter design the seed furrow is wider at the bottom than where the coulter enters the ground. This ensures the top of the furrow closes in above the seed leaving it in a protected moist micro environment.

The rake angle of the coulter ensures that the base of the furrow is permeable promoting drainage and enabling easy rooting. Behind the coulter the option of a simple chain bar which drags over the seed slot or a spring roller for heavier soil ensure the soil is left firm but the surface is open and permeable.
